Dual Bay Reservoir and pump
X20 750 Dual Bayres/Pump V4
In the past, we have seen clear acrylic bay reservoirs from XSPC but the included X20 740 Dual Baryres/Pump V4 is made from strong nylon and has brass M3 threads on each side for installing into 2×5.25″ drive bays. The front is black brushed aluminium with a slot to show how much water is in the reservoir.
The fill port on the top of the reservoir has a thick o-ring to ensure you get a good seal and a third port on the back where you could install a silver plug, drain hose or temperature sensor. An LED can also be installed at the rear of the reservoir to light up the chamber for some extra bling factor. Although XSPC include a blue 5mm LED with the kit, you can also buy white, UV, red and green for $4 each if you want to change it out.
In order to make sure that you have your water pumping in the right direction around your loop, there is a label for “in” and “out” on the back so you get it right.
We found that the top fill port doesn’t sit 100% flush with the top of the reservoir. This meant that we needed to ever so slightly ‘persuade’ the top place of our Arc Midi R2 case to install it – I’m talking about a simple squeeze with my thumbs on the metal drive bay housing to give me the <1mm clearance I needed. It might have been a tolerance issue with the case or the slightly raised fill port cover or both but in the end it was no big deal.
