The NF-A9x14 is the thinner version of the NF-A9 fan. As the name suggests, it’s 14mm thick rather than 25mm which keeps the cooler height lower. You can mount a thicker NF-A9 fan to the NH-L9x65 if you want to but the alternate fan needs to be purchased separately. The NF-A9x14 spins faster, is slightly louder and has less airflow than its thicker sibling but still does a great job and is a good compromise.

The NF-A9x14 is a positive sign that Noctua may yet release a thinner 120mm and/or 140mm PWM fan for compact builds. *fingers crossed*
